Ian Asquith

Non-Executive Chairman

With a career in the magnet industry spanning 30 years, Ian’s experience is vast. Ian started his career as an engineering apprentice in a magnet manufacturing plant before becoming a qualified engineer who built a track record littered with creative and technical solutions, applying magnets into thousands of specialist applications. Ian spent many years visiting companies worldwide to assess, design and to arrange the manufacture of bespoke cutting-edge magnetic equipment which would be manufactured exactly to meet the customers’ needs. Ian has designed magnetic equipment for steel works, canning plants, robot welding cells, food production plants and car production plants to name a few.

“Magnetics is a fascinating subject and magnets have a unique ability to simplify things. Outstanding benefits can be realised by using the power of magnets. Finding good information regarding magnets is so difficult, there is so much deep and complicated theory, which often hides the practical and useful solution. At Magnet Expert, we like to explain things in practical, easy to understand and more importantly, an ‘easy to apply’ way to get the job done as elegantly and as cost effectively as possible.”

 
 

Matthew Ellis

Managing Director

As Managing Director, Matthew leads the management team and is responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the business and its continued growth. Previously fulfilling the role of Sales Director, Matthew’s legacy is an old fashioned approach to the customer experience, with the core goal to always exceed customer expectations. It is because of Matthew and his team that Magnet Expert Ltd is widely regarded as the market leader in the industry. Matthew has been instrumental in building our impeccable reputation.  As Managing Director, Matthew continues to build lasting relationships with some of the UK and Europe's largest companies in the manufacturing, sub-sea and retail sectors.

Matthew says “The most important aspect of my role is to provide our team with knowledge and skills to be able to provide an outstanding service for our customers. We have a simple ‘can-do’ philosophy and if we can do something to make our customers’ experience more rewarding, by giving that little extra time and attention, then we will. Personally, I believe in providing customers with a traditional customer service, where going that extra mile is considered the standard – a belief shared by all members of our team.”
 
 

Stuart Mather

Operations Director

Stuart is responsible for purchasing, stock management and logistics. Stuart has a keen analytical mind and he is responsible for always making sure the company’s stocks exceed ‘customer demand’. It is because of Stuart and the operations team that the company is confident of fulfilling all customer orders, even when faced with the tightest of deadlines, never leaving a customer disappointed. Stuart also manages our Quality Assurance department to make sure that all our magnets meet our stringent requirements.

Stuart says “My role is to make sure that promises we make to our customers are delivered. We invest a lot of time in product development and quality assurance testing to always offer the best products to our customers. It excites me to see a customer’s order from beginning to end and ensure than there are no problems along the way.”

 

Simon Elliott

Head of Sales

As the Head of Sales, Simon is responsible for managing the internal sales and marketing teams with the task of implementing a structured strategy to build on the work and achievements the company has achieved so far. With over 10 years’ experience in technical sales management and building long term business relationships, Simon is focused on the customer’s needs and providing a bespoke service as we continue to work together and develop our operations. No application is out of reach and Simon’s can-do attitude is reflected in how the sales team tackle every challenge.

Simon says “This is an exciting time within a forward thinking & reactive company. My aim is to build on the skills of the team and embed an ethos where we can offer the best customer experience from an initial enquiry right through to the after-sale service.”

 

Lindsey Melady

Head of Finance

Lindsey is responsible for the company accounts, credit control and ensuring the company complies with all financial regulations. Lindsey is a Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) and an integral part of the senior management team with her knowledge and background being invaluable in driving the business forward.

Lindsey says “For any business to thrive, it needs to have a good working relationship with debtors, creditors and financial authorities. In my role, I hope to use my background and experience of accounting to help the business continue to flourish.”

 

David Gault

Head of Production

David has been instrumental in growing Magnet Expert’s customer base by developing new product ranges and nurturing long lasting relationships with many key partners. As the ‘Head of Production’, David oversees everything from the initial development to the launch of new product ranges, ensuring incomparable quality across all products. Additionally, David is responsible for ensuring exceptional value for money and maintaining stock levels to meet our customer’s requirements. 

David says “I am dedicated to ensuring stock levels are sufficient, quality is exceptional and that we continue to develop new innovative products and ranges. My experience in the industry allows me to fully meet the requirements of the role and I will always strive to exceed the expectations of our customers.”
