The unit has two very powerful Neodymium magnets inside to give the very deep magnetic field needed to penetrate a 22mm copper pipe and comes complete with two cable ties to make attaching it to the pipe, a two minute job. The unit will work continuously with no running costs or maintenance needed. The 25 cm3 Neodymium magnet generates a field strength of 5,200 Gauss and is designed for 22mm copper or plastic pipes, although they can be fitted to 15mm pipes for extra efficiency. The unit size is 30mm x 65mm x 35mm tall. The 30mm x 65mm face is positioned against the pipe.

The units should be positioned as close to the tap, washing machine or shower as possible to get the best results. Ideal places are directly under the sink on the cold water pipe, just before the washing machine water inlet and on the pipe leading to the shower. The powerful magnetism charges the calcium carbonate (CaCO3) ions, making them repel each other rather than clumping together to form white chalky residue. The charged water simply passes through the shower, dishwasher or kettle with significantly less calcification.
