Alnico magnets are one of the most well-known types of magnet. These magnets are typically painted red and used widely in industrial and educational applications. Neodymium magnets, also known as “Rare Earth Magnets” are high performance magnets and are the strongest type of magnet commercially available. We stock a huge range of neodymium magnets in a variety of shapes and sizes
Samarium Cobalt magnets are typically known as High Temperature magnets. These strong magnets can withstand operating temperatures that other magnets would simply degenerate under. This material is also very brittle by nature and can be prone to chipping and cracking.
Our ferrite magnets offer a deep depth of field as well as outstanding value for money. Ferrite magnets are typically not as powerful as neodymium magnets but are less brittle than samarium cobalt magnets. Magnetic field paper when placed over a magnet will clearly identify and show the areas between north and south poles. This micro-encapsulated film can instantly show the position of poles and the pitching between them on magnets. These sheets are not magnetic but are incredibly popular for magnet demonstrations in schools. Our magnetic field paper can be re-used and is extremely thin, flexible and durable making it easy to tightly wrap around circular surfaces.
Iron powder and filings are perfect for sprinkling onto a sheet of A4 paper to show the magnet lines of a magnet. Simply place the magnet under the paper and watch the filings move around to show the magnetic field lines of any given magnet.
