{"id":249,"date":"2016-04-22T13:48:58","date_gmt":"2016-04-22T13:48:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.first4magnets.com\/news\/?p=249"},"modified":"2025-02-28T12:29:27","modified_gmt":"2025-02-28T12:29:27","slug":"young-robot-engineers-attract-support-from-first4magnets-in-european-robotics-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.first4magnets.com\/blog\/young-robot-engineers-attract-support-from-first4magnets-in-european-robotics-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Young robot engineers attract support from first4magnets in European robotics competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>First4magnets are proud to have supported three teams of budding robotics engineers and programmers from University of Southampton in their quest for supremacy at the Eurobot UK final, hosted by Middlesex University on Thursday, 21 April, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s theme was \u2018Beach Bots\u2019 and the fierce competition saw each team and their autonomous robot go head-to-head with 30 other teams in a series of beach-themed agility and technical skill-based tasks including magnetically retrieving ferrous fish, hoisting flags and building sandcastles.<\/p>\n<p>Each team sponsored by first4magnets donned t-shirts and proudly displayed the first4magnets brand on their robots as they competed.<\/p>\n<p>In attendance, Managing Director of first4magnets Matthew Ellis said: \u201cFirst4magnets have a proud history of supporting students and we\u2019ve been delighted to be able to help the three groups of extremely talented young people in the build and development of their robots.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-251\" src=\"https:\/\/www.first4magnets.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Eurobot2.jpg\" alt=\"Eurobot2\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/>\u201cIt was inspiring to see what the students had created and of course, how they had incorporated the magnets first4magnets supplied them with within their robots.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Created in 1998, Eurobot is an annual international amateur robotics competition open to students and robotics clubs and societies.
