A couple of tweets and emails later and a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.first4magnets.com\/us\/large-metre-sheet-magnets-c82\/large-coloured-flexible-ferrous-sheet-home-office-1000-x-590-610mm-x-0-4mm-p3851#ab_1-13|ps_2-3146\">large self-adhesive ferrous sheet<\/a>&nbsp;and a pack of self-adhesive magnets were on their way to Martyn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gloss-white ferrous sheet is stuck to an MDF backing board using the self-adhesive backing, creating a perfect surface for magnets to attract to. In this example,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.first4magnets.com\/us\/circular-disc-rod-magnets-c34\/adhesive-15mm-dia-x-1mm-n42-neodymium-magnet-1-1kg-pull-p2840\">15mm diameter<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.first4magnets.com\/us\/circular-disc-rod-magnets-c34\/adhesive-25mm-dia-x-2mm-n42-neodymium-magnet-3-5kg-pull-p2849\">25mm diameter magnets with premium self-adhesive<\/a>&nbsp;are then stuck to the ribbon of the medals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.first4magnets.com\/us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Combined_500.jpg\" alt=\"Magnetic Medal Display Board\" class=\"wp-image-1465\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>An alternative would be to use magnets without adhesive to clamp the medals to the board. An average medal weighing 300 grams with a 2mm thick ribbon would require a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.first4magnets.com\/us\/circular-disc-rod-magnets-c34\/20mm-dia-x-5mm-thick-n42-neodymium-magnet-7-3kg-pull-p2557\">20mm diameter x 5mm thick neodymium magnet<\/a>&nbsp;to hold it in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019d like to thank Martyn for sending in these photos and wish him luck in his future races!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are an avid runner, have you ever struggled to attach your race number with safety pins?
