Magnetic Fly Screens
Fresh air in. Insects out.

Magnetic Fly Screens

Product overview

What is a Magnetic Fly Screen?

A magnetic fly screen is a door curtain made from fine mesh that hangs across a doorway, held in place by a frame of magnetic strips that run down each side. When you walk through, the curtain parts and then snaps shut behind you automatically as the magnets in the leading edges attract each other; no hands needed.

Unlike traditional fly screens that hinge or slide, a magnetic fly screen requires no door modification and can be installed in minutes using either pin fixings or adhesive-backed Velcro. It rolls up when not in use and stores flat.

We offer 6 sizes to fit a variety of door sizes. Explore below.

Buying questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What sizes are available in the magnetic fly screens?

Our magnetic fly screens are available in 6 different sizes, to suit an array of different door frames.

Will it keep mosquitoes and midges out?

Yes; the 100% polyester fine mesh is designed to block flies, mosquitoes, midges, spiders, and other common household insects while still allowing air to flow freely through the door.

How does it close after I walk through?

Our magnetic fly screens have 16 pairs of magnets built into the two leading edges of the curtain. As you pass through, the magnets attract each other and the curtain snaps closed automatically behind you; no hands needed!

Can I use it on a patio door or caravan?

Yes; our screens work on any standard door opening up to 180cm wide x 210cm high, including front doors, back doors, patio doors, French doors, internal doorways, caravan doors, and campervan entrances.

How is the fly screen attached to the door frame?

The kit includes both adhesive-backed Velcro strips and pin fixings, so you can choose the method that suits your door frame best. Velcro is ideal for smooth or painted surfaces; pin fixings are better for timber frames.

Can the screen be removed and stored in winter?

Yes; the screen can be removed easily by detaching the top rail and Velcro/pin fixings. It rolls or folds flat for compact off-season storage.
