152.4mm dia 12V Energise to Hold Electromagnet - 454kg Pull

Code: EM15231M10-1

Easy to use electromagnet for lifting and holding applications. These magnets require a power source; when electricity is passed through them they produce a strong magnetic field and when the power is removed, the magnetic field disappears instantly.

Please note, the listed pull strength is based on the electromagnet being in direct contact with a steel or ferrous surface that is equal in thickness to the magnet itself.

  • 152.4mm diameter x 31.75mm thick
  • Magnet field generated when an electric current is applied
  • Each magnet has a safe working limit (SWL) of up to 454kg in a vertical direct position when electricity is applied
  • Zinc Plated Mild Steel
  • Supplied with 2x 1/4-20 UNC mounting hole on the reverse for fixing and mounting
  • Operating voltage 12V DC / 7.8W, power source not included

This heavy-duty 12V DC energise-to-hold electromagnet provides up to 454kg of controllable magnetic holding force, making it a powerful solution for demanding industrial, manufacturing and engineering applications.

When connected to a 12V DC power supply, the electromagnet generates a powerful magnetic field to securely attract and hold suitable steel and ferrous components. When the power is switched off, the magnetic field disappears, allowing the held component to be released on demand.

Measuring 152.4mm in diameter and just 31.75mm thick, its relatively low-profile circular design makes it suitable for integration into machinery, automated systems, handling equipment, production fixtures and custom assemblies where substantial holding force is required.

Two 1/4-20 UNC threaded mounting holes on the reverse provide secure fixing points for incorporating the electromagnet into equipment and purpose-built assemblies. The zinc-plated mild steel construction provides a durable finish suitable for industrial and engineering environments.

Operating from 12V DC with a 7.8W power requirement, the electromagnet is supplied with approximately 610mm of connecting wire for connection to a suitable DC power source.

Please note: A suitable 12V DC power supply is required and is not included. The stated 454kg safe working limit is achieved under optimum conditions in a vertical direct pull when the electromagnet is in full contact with a suitable steel or ferrous surface equal in thickness to the electromagnet. Actual holding performance can be affected by material type and thickness, surface condition, air gaps and the direction of the applied load.
