This compact 24V DC energise-to-release electromagnet provides up to 16kg of magnetic holding force and is designed for applications where a secure magnetic hold is required without continuous electrical power.
Unlike an energise-to-hold electromagnet, this unit uses an internal permanent magnet to provide its holding force when no power is applied. When connected to a 24V DC power supply, the electromagnetic field counteracts the permanent magnet, reducing the external magnetic hold and allowing the attached ferrous component to be released.This operating principle makes the electromagnet particularly useful in systems where components need to remain magnetically held for extended periods but only require power when they need to be released.
Measuring 40mm in diameter and 30mm thick, its compact cylindrical design makes it suitable for integration into access control systems, automated machinery, handling equipment, fixtures and custom engineering assemblies.
An M6 threaded mounting hole and two M4 threaded holes on the reverse provide flexible and secure mounting options for integration into equipment and purpose-built systems. The iron body features a bright nickel finish for a durable, clean surface.
Operating from 24V DC with an 18W power requirement, this electromagnet is designed for controlled release applications where electrical power is applied when the magnetic hold needs to be disengaged.
Please note: The stated 16kg pull force is achieved under optimum conditions when the electromagnet is in direct contact with a suitable steel or ferrous surface equal in thickness to the electromagnet. Actual holding performance can be affected by material type and thickness, surface condition, air gaps and the direction of the applied load.
