88.9mm dia 12V Energise to Hold Electromagnet - 300kg Pull

Code: EM8838M6-1

Easy to use electromagnet for lifting and holding applications. These magnets require a power source; when electricity is passed through them they produce a strong magnetic field and when the power is removed, the magnetic field disappears instantly.

Please note, the listed pull strength is based on the electromagnet being in direct contact with a steel or ferrous surface that is equal in thickness to the magnet itself.

Select

  • 88.9mm diameter x 38.1mm thick
  • Magnet field generated when an electric current is applied
  • Each magnet has a safe working limit (SWL) of up to 300kg in a vertical direct position when electricity is applied
  • Zinc Plated Mild Steel
  • Supplied with 2x 1/4-20 UNC mounting holes on the reverse for fixing and mounting
  • Operating voltage 12V DC / 8W, power source not included
  • Hole spacing: 25mm

This heavy-duty 12V DC energise-to-hold electromagnet provides up to 300kg of controllable magnetic holding force, making it ideal for demanding industrial, automation and engineering applications.

When connected to a 12V DC power supply, the electromagnet generates a powerful magnetic field to securely attract and hold suitable steel and ferrous components. When the power is switched off, the magnetic field disappears, allowing the held component to be released quickly and easily.

Measuring 88.9mm in diameter and 38.1mm thick, this electromagnet combines substantial holding performance with a compact circular design suitable for integration into machinery, automated systems, handling equipment and custom assemblies.

Two 1/4-20 UNC threaded mounting holes on the reverse, spaced 25mm apart, provide secure fixing points for incorporating the electromagnet into equipment, fixtures and purpose-built systems. The zinc-plated mild steel construction provides a durable finish suitable for engineering and industrial environments.

Operating from 12V DC with an 8W power requirement, the electromagnet is supplied with approximately 635mm of connecting wire for connection to a suitable DC power source.

Its powerful and controllable holding action makes it suitable for applications including industrial automation, robotic handling, material handling and transfer systems, holding and positioning ferrous components, pick-and-place systems, sorting and processing equipment, production fixtures, workholding, manufacturing machinery and custom electrically controlled holding systems.

Please note: A suitable 12V DC power supply is required and is not included. The stated 300kg safe working limit is achieved under optimum conditions in a vertical direct pull when the electromagnet is in full contact with a suitable steel or ferrous surface equal in thickness to the electromagnet. Actual holding performance can be affected by material type and thickness, surface condition, air gaps and the direction of the applied load.
